The location is along an apparently natural flood plain overflow channel and has almost the same elevation as the river 1000 ft. to the west. The community is surrounded by slightly higher agricultural fields.;The vegetation is very patchy along the depression. Large areas are covered with Phalaris arundinacea with a few patches of Sagittaria and Typha.There is water 5 cm. above the ground surface.
